Had a vehicle brought to The Shop for a pre-purchase inspection. Steven was fantastic in working with me on scheduling and the inspection was exactly what I needed. He went through what he found and gave me the information I needed to make a decision. Used vehicles are never perfect, but having a mechanic you can trust help you understand both the current condition as well as what you can expect in terms of repairs down the road is super valuable. I will continue to bring my business here. Highly recommend.

Steven and the mechanics at the shop are as honest as they come. Twice now I've come to them with "problems" that they've talked me out of wasting money on. They use good old fashion diagnostics to insure that they aren't just throwing parts at the problem to waste your time and money.

Both Steve’s were amazing .. I would definitely recommend their services to a family member or friend… Jacob the other technician that was present was very thorough and professional . the whole team was a great pleasure to do business with and will further be attending their services. But my experience with "The Shop" in J-Town and with the owner, Steven, has been outstanding! I had two unrelated issues with my Ford Escape. In the most gracious and sincere way Steve kept me fully informed at all times, worked hard to find ways to reduce the cost and completed the work to the highest standards. Steven treated me like a long time friend and customer even though it was my first visit. "The Shop" will be my "go to" for all future services for both of my cars. THANK YOU Steven!

Incredibly impressed with this place. I called asking about having some brake work done and they told me to bring it in any morning and they would take care of it. The repairs ended up being a bit more involved than expected, but they still managed to get everything done that same day! They were very communicative about my repairs throughout the process. They sent pictures and provided updates. All the staff I dealt with were very friendly and knowledgeable, taking time to answer any questions or explain any repairs. The prices of services were fair and reasonable. I will be back for any future mechanic services.

Our Prius was acting like the hybrid battery was problematic. We called around and found The Shop who could get it in and diagnose it for us. It ended up being the accessory battery. We appreciated the communications, and quick turn around of the car. I highly recommend this business.

Great experience with Steven and the rest of the crew at the Shop! Needed a new battery for a BMW. They exceeded my expectations with efficiency , knowledge and a little bit of fun thrown into the experience. I will definately return for future maintenance.

Moved back to J-Town. Passed this shop several times and had never stopped in. Needed some engine work done on my 96 Mustang GT. Explained the problem and was told they could take care of it. They completed the work in a timely manner and kept in contact with me the whole time the vehicle was there. The staff is very knowledgeable, experienced, friendly and professional. Would recommend this shop to any car person that wants quality work done. All my cars will be going here for any repairs.

Last night I noticed my engine light come and had no idea what was wrong. I remembered a business card I received in the mail describing "The Shop" for automotive repair. I took my vehicle in and discovered a great place to take my cars for repair. It's nice to find a repair shop you can trust for outstanding service. Today they won a new customer.

Great service, and range of services. Great products, and, range of products with competitive pricing. (They saved me $35 on my battery alone) But for me, and, most importantly are the great people at ‘The Shop’. Fantastic customer service and support. The owners really have a handle on how to treat their customers fairly and with a service you will not forget.

I honestly cannot recommend The Shop enough. At first I came in to get a second opinion and a quote. When I dropped off my vehicle I spoke with Steven about some history about the car as well as what our needs were. He was absolutely amazing, and after walking out of The Shop, I called my wife and said "I don't care if he charges us twice as much as the other place, I'm having them do the work." I never mentioned anything about having another place look at it first, so it wasn't like he was trying to undercut their quote. Even then, he made sure to try and get us the best prices on the parts and got us a couple of discounts on them. Honestly, after getting the quote from the other place, I priced it all out myself based on what they had said, and Steven and The Shop are definitely making money in some nefarious way, because it ain't in parts and labor... xD

Went there to get my oil changed today and my service was excellent. The guys was very knowledgeable and help with something that was also going on with my vehicle other the oil change. They did over charge me for anything and I will be a returning customer for sure.

There is not enough room on this review to truly say how amazing The Shop is! We’ve taken our cars there for various reasons, several times, but I’ll just speak of this last time. They got us in right away fixed what was needed immediately as they knew that was my daughters only transportation. They helped her with the cost, and her car is working perfectly. (They even text to follow up the next day to make sure)! Steven and crew truly go beyond and above, and definitely far pass expectations.

Very transparent about what your vehicle does and doesn’t need. Very rare that you find a shop that doesn’t try to squeeze money out of your pocket. Super friendly and very knowledgeable group as well!

I have taken my car here a few different times for different issues. They have been exceptional every time. The staff is friendly and knowledgable and they are very open and transparent with cost and what is going on with your car. They have provided pictures of the damaged items/areas before they were replaced and the part removed from my car when I went to pick it up. The clear straitforward unambiguity is incredible and as someone who has been burnt by mechanics in the past taking advantage of my ignorance, The Shop is a welcome relief for a good autoshop.

We moved here 3 months ago and I asked my neighborhood group about a reputable, honest mechanic who was reliable and thorough. The Shop was recommended several times and now I can see why. Steve was knowledgeable and considerate, addressed all of my concerns, and left me feeling confident in the job that was done. Happy to have found our new family mechanic!

My wife went to this shop a few months ago and could not stop talking about how great of a job they had done for a fair price. Recently, I attempted to go to another shop to get my tires rotated and oil changed and was blown away at how much they were quoting for a simple job; due to this I decided to check out The Shop. As soon as I walked in I was treated as if the owner and I had been friends for years and the prices were some of the best I've seen around Louisville. Our initial conversation went so well that I ended up having them do quite a bit of routine maintenance (tire rotation, oil change, air filters, battery change) all at once because I trusted them to give me the best prices (which they absolutely did.) To summarize, if you're looking for an honest, hardworking, and fair local shop then this should be the one you go to. I cannot say good enough things and I will only be going here in the future for any maintenance my car needs.

I bought my car used a year and a half ago, and it has been nothing but trouble. I’ve taken it to multiple places for various repairs. I brought it to The Shop initially for a transmission leak, but they identified and addressed other issues I had been dealing with. They communicated with me throughout the process and got my car running better than it did when I first bought it. I’ll be bringing my car here from now on!

The shop not only got my car looked at in a timely manner but we’re very transparent with exactly what was wrong and also did a thorough inspection and found a few other things that would have been safety concerns. They communicated very well, explained it to where I could understand and I would highly recommend taking your vehicle here with car troubles.
